The National Women’s Education Center of Japan (NWEC) established the Privacy Policy described below in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information Held by Independent Administrative Agencies, etc. and the Enforcement Order of the Act on Protection of Personal Information Held by Independent Administrative Agencies (herein referred to as “Laws and Orders”) to ensure appropriate handling of personal information*1 in the course of all of its operations and services, including operation of its website, and constantly endeavors to protect personal information.

*1 For the purpose of this policy, “personal information” refers to data pertaining to a living individual such as their name or date of birth, description of which would enable that individual to be identified.

When collecting personal information in writing (including through electronic means), NWEC shall clearly indicate all purpose for which that information will be used with the exception of cases provided for in Laws and Orders.

NWEC shall develop necessary and appropriate safe management measures to prevent leakage, loss or unintentional deletion of personal information in its possession, and shall constantly endeavor to improve such measures.

With the exception of cases provided for in Laws and Orders, NWEC shall not use personal information in its possession for any purpose other than that clearly stated.

With the exception of cases provided for in Laws and Orders, NWEC shall not provide personal information in its possession to any third party.

NWEC shall disclose personal information pertaining to an individual in its possession at the request of that person, and amend or discontinue use of that personal information in response to all reasonable requests from the person in question.
