Conclusion of Memorandum of Understanding on Exchange and Cooperation with the Ministry of Women's Affairs, Royal Government of Cambodia

Memorandum of Understanding on Exchange and Cooperation was concluded with the Ministry of Women's Affairs, Royal Government of Cambodia on Tuesday, April 6, 2010.
H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi and her husband, and H.E. Ms. Sok Monny, Chief of Cabinet, Ministry of Women's Affairs, who were visiting Japan at the invitation of the Saitama-Cambodia Friendship Association, participated in the signing ceremony held in a conference room at NWEC. An address by President Kanda explaining that collaboration between the two institutions in the form of researches, training and personnel exchange had slead to conclusion of the MOU was followed by an address by Dr. Phavi in which she expressed her hope that the MOU would encourage further development of this relationship of cooperation: the MOU was then signed.
After the signing ceremony, the visitors toured the Information Center for Women’s Education and the Women’s Archives Center, and discussion of future cooperation took place in the friendly atmosphere of a dinner hosted by President Kanda.
Both institutions will use the conclusion of this MOU to further deepen human exchange and exchange programs such as research and information pertaining to gender equality and women’s education, and intend to work together to organize future international conferences and seminars.
This is the fifth foreign institution with which NWEC has concluded an MOU following those with the Korean Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education (KIGEPE); Korean Women’s Development Institute (KWDI); the University of the Philippines; and Yanbian University.
